Cattery Questionnaire: Sandra Jeschke, proud owner of Makavity (called Mac), after the cat in TS Eliot's book Old Possums' Book of Practical Cats, the basis of the Broadway musical CATS. (If you've never read it, get a copy, it's short, and wonderful cat reading!) Mac was from Isabel's litter (from Serendipitycats). I believe Mac, and Mother's cat, Diva (from MewsicalDolls), have the same father, Rocky. Mac and Diva are about two weeks apart in age.

1. Mac had/has great muscle tone, a luxurious coat and bright clear eyes. He is huge at only 10 months old and is amazingly marked. His eyes are so blue they seem to glow from behind his 'mask' and makes his pink nose really stand out in color.

2. His eyes were free of discharge, his ears clean and pink. His inner ears, nose and paw pads are glorious pink...such a contrast with the chocolate seal points.

3. His skin was fine, even around the surgery site (he had an undescended testicle, remember?) He healed quickly.
4. I received good instructions on care and feeding.

5. I received all necessary papers and health records.
6. I received a health guarantee.

7. Mac was - and is - very well socialized. In fact, he owns all of us, including all the other animals in our household. He rules the roost! He is very rambunctious and has a bad habit of "bouncing off the walls" when he's playing hard. When we have company, he plops himself in the middle of everything. He will not be ignored or left out of any people business. He greets us at the door when we come home (he hears the garage door opener). We have used a squirt bottle with water to teach him not to get on the table and/or kitchen cabinets. But we have to aim carefully, only a squirt in the face will deter him. A squirt anywhere else on his body is just a nice bath (which he loves!).
8. It was a joy to be in your home around all the other cats - they played so well with each other. and were so clean and healthy.

9. None of your animals exhibited any fear of strangers, or of each other. And they were certainly not mistreated.

10. Your home was clean and did not have any odor.

11. I would certainly buy another kitten from you.

12. My experience working with you was delightful. I can't imagine life without my Ragdoll Mac! He and Mother's cat, Diva, are a real circus when they play together. He even enjoys playing with the dogs (2 Bichons) - they are all about the same size, but Mac is definitely the boss.

13. I have no suggestions for improvement. You are wonderful!

Nancy,

Jules is doing really well. He is growing like a weed! He rules the house around here. Everyone vies for his attention. I am just sorry I waited so long to get him. He has been such a joy.

Keep in touch,

Cathy

Hello! My name is Crystal Williams and I am a potential buyer for one of
Nancy Whitehurst's soon-to-be-born Ragdoll kittens. She gave me your name and e-mail address as a reference. I have just a few questions that I hope you don't mind answering about your buying experience and overall opinion of your new bundle of joy. Purchasing a Ragdoll cat is a very important decision, so I am sure you can understand why I am covering all of my bases.

Here are my questions:
1) How was your overall buying experience from Nancy? Did you have any
difficulties or problems in aquiring Max?
2) How would you rate Max's overall disposition and health?
3) Have there been any complications with Max's transition from Nancy's home to your home?
4) Would you recommend Nancy as a Ragdoll breeder? Would you buy another Ragdoll cat from Nancy?

Thank you so much for your time and have a blessed Christmas!

Kind regards,
Crystal Williams

Ms. Williams'

I would be happy to respond to your questions concerning Nancy's cats.

Max is the first cat I have ever purchased from a breeder. I have had
MANY cats over the years, but they were strays or unwanted and never
kittens. I can't believe the difference. My new kitten, Max, is so well
socialized and friendly I may never go back to the stray cats again.
I picked Nancy to purchase from because I found her to be very accessible as far as questions and concerns. I knew what kind of markings and type I
wanted, but I wasn't sure if I wanted a male or female. She was extremely
patient with me. My husband and I went to see the kittens before we
decided. That trip sealed the deal for me. Nancy's home is warm and
welcoming, and extremely clean for one who breeds cats. Her cats and
kittens are raised this way. They seem to be part of her family. You
almost feel guilty taking them away. But I got over that. Nancy is very
accommodating, but she is also very strict about when you can see the
kittens. She protects their health like they were her babies. All this
basically results in one healthy, happy, kitten. I think this results in a
cat with extra purrs, too. Max has adjusted to our home of 3 kids, 3 cats
and 2 dogs faster and better than I could have hoped. We kept him separated for about a week, then he just jumped in with all four paws and we have enjoyed every minute. My last words to Nancy when we were leaving with Max were that this may be my first Rag doll kitten from her, but it surely would not be my last. If you have any other concerns, my suggestion would be to arrange a time to go visit before you decide. But let me warn you: You could end up wanting more than one after your visit. Good luck to you and Merry Christmas.
